DeFi yield aggregator for investing in crypto products

In 2019, Akropolis launched an initial coin offering (ICO), and our team came on board to help the client develop and test the MVP in the early stages of product development.

Why did the client choose us?

The client needed a strong frontend team and multiple developers right away.

Hiring an in-house frontend developer could have taken 3-4 weeks, and putting together a full team would have taken even longer and been more expensive. On top of that, they needed to launch as quickly as possible.

By 2019, we already had around 20 experienced frontend developers, with major projects under our belt (like Improvado and Datalight), involving complex tables and advanced client-side computations.

We were the perfect fit for the job.

Launched 10 different MVP versions

The Akropolis project started as a decentralized savings and pension fund — an alternative to government pension funds, which people often distrust due to issues like corruption and lack of transparency.
The client needed to quickly test various hypotheses. We efficiently handled all the frontend work for these MVPs.

We made every effort to reuse previous work, such as UI component libraries, wallet integration, approval systems, and balance features. This approach allowed us to speed up development and quickly release the initial versions of the products.

Challenges we faced

2022 year

An event occurred that shaped the future direction of the platform and our work: criminals stole 2,030,850 Dai (DAI) using the savings pools.

After the hack, the product strategy shifted: the client decided to fully switch to front-end protocols for enhanced security. All tasks were handed over to our team.

We learned how to handle critical situations: quickly providing updates to the project community, writing announcements, and staying available, as frontend developers might also be needed to promptly disable certain features.
Our work with Akropolis led to 5 years of close collaboration.

How the product is evolving today

The product development strategy depends on the community (DAO), which votes on whether to approve or reject new decisions.
Our team suggests updates and improvements for the product, and they receive support from the community.

Liquity

After integrating Liquity into Akropolis, users gained the ability to stake their ETH to receive loans in the stablecoin LUSD, without having to repay the loan by a specific deadline.

This added an extra layer of financial flexibility to the Akropolis platform, giving users more options for managing their assets. Now, users can make better use of their cryptocurrency portfolios by accessing liquidity without needing to sell their Ether investments.

Lido

After integrating Lido, Akropolis users can now participate in Ethereum staking directly through the platform, receiving stETH staking tokens in exchange for their staked ETH.

This provides them with a steady income from staking, boosting the returns on their investments without the need to manage hardware or worry about minimum deposit amounts.

Technology stack

React

A library for building interfaces: the perfect solution for a component-based architecture.

Typescript

Enhances security during development and changes, and improves performance in high-traffic projects.

NextJS

A framework for frontend applications that addresses many developer pain points, from build configuration to server-side rendering (SSR).

RxJS

A library for "advanced event management" and a "more powerful alternative to promises" all in one. It helps organize event handling and asynchronous code efficiently, and allows for writing complex logic in a declarative manner.

GraphQL & The Graph Network

Transforms blockchain transaction history into domain-specific entities for the project, providing an API for searching and retrieving the necessary information.

I’ve had a chance to work with the guys on 2 different blockchain projects. Over the time of cooperation, they showed the strongest technical skills, total commitment to the project, and shared understanding. It’s a real pleasure to work with them.
In 2019, when we started working with Akropolis, it was our first major project in web3. You could say this project set our course: to focus specifically on blockchain development.
Today, we’re a company specializing in crypto and blockchain solutions, and we are among the leaders in the global market.
